What is K-Laser therapy and How does it work?
Cellular Effects of Laser Therapy occur when photons of therapeutic laser light interact with cells. Higher adenosine tri-phosphate (ATP) levels are produced giving the cell more energy, cell membrane permeability is increased, and blood and lymphatic vessels are vasodilated. These events then lead to a cascade of beneficial effects increasing cellular energy and health.
Laser Therapeutic Effects
During each treatment, laser energy increases circulation drawing water, oxygen, and nutrients to the damaged area. This creates an optimal healing environment that reduces inflammation, muscle spasms, stiffness, and pain. As the injured area returns to normal, function is restored and pain is relieved.
Treatment time, power and laser pulse frequency are based on your individual condition and body part.
K-Laser Therapy is used for post surgical cases as well. After surgery, patients receiving laser therapy have less pain, and their recovery is faster, with fewer complications.
Where is it beneficial?
Pain Management: Many patients often prefer a progressive, non-invasive therapy to a drug regimen for the treatment of chronic pain. K- Laser therapy provides that solution without side effects.
Wound Healing: Laser therapy can significantly reduce healing time. Traumatic skin injuries and surgical incisions benefit greatly from K-Laser intervention.
Rehab: Musculoskeletal injuries and orthopedic surgeries often require additional rehabilitation solutions. K-Laser therapy is a nice addition to any therapy or rehabilitation program allowing for a quicker recovery.
What to expect from a K-Laser Treatment…
The treatment is painless and the experience is usually pleasant and comforting to the patient. Although improvement is often seen after the first visit, most patients require several treatments (10 to 15) for greatest benefit. For most conditions, we recommend a multi-visit treatment plan. Treatments vary in length, but most sites require 6 to 10 minutes. Some conditions even respond well to range of motion protocols. A majority of patients exhibit greater comfort and mobility within 12 to 24 hours after a laser treatment.
Class IV laser therapy treatments are cumulative in nature. The length and frequency of treatments varies with your condition. A sample treatment schedule is as follows:
- Every other day for four weeks (12 total)
- Twice the for week 4 (8 total)
- Once time for the next four weeks (4 total)
- Maintenance as needed
We will recommend a treatment plan specific to your condition. When K-Laser Therapy is used synergistically with other therapeutic treatments, it can provide dramatic results and more complete, longer lasting healing.
